We’re delighted to announce the winners of our festival’s inaugural short film competition.

All finalists in both our International and Irish categories were screened on our festival’s digital player in October last year and our judges noted the high quality of work on display, particularly within the International entries that showcased the breadth of stories that can be told within the horror genre.

But after careful consideration our judges selected the following shorts as winners in our various categories.

  • Best Irish Short – Suri Grennell’s Wrath
  • Best International Short – Niels Bourgonje’s Woodland Cemetery
  • First Time Filmmaker (Irish Category) – Paudie Baggott’s Pip to the Rescue
  • First Time Filmmaker (International Category) -Tobias Björklund Lehto’s Wake
  • Man sitting on a hospital bed at Belfast Horror Festival 2020, award-winning film scene.
